PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Goodwill Industries of the Berkshires and Southern Vermont announces that it has received a $1,500 grant from Fallon Health for the nonprofit’s continued work in fighting food insecurity in the Berkshires.
Goodwill is part of a local collaborative effort that transports roughly 9,000 pounds of food every week from the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts in Chicopee to Berkshire County soup kitchens, food pantries and a homeless shelter.
According to Vice President, Executive Affairs and Territory Expansion Maryam Kamangar, “We appreciate Fallon Health’s grant supporting Goodwill trucks and drivers who bring fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, frozen meals, meat and nonperishable food to those most in need in our community.”
